1: Salma Hayek’s Ajak heals horses …?

First, the new “Eternals” trailer shows superstar Salma Hayek in cowboy gear on a horse. According to the character description, her Eternals figure has the ability to heal people and other Eternals and even be able to communicate with the Celestials / Space Gods.

But why is Ajak riding in a picturesque landscape in the short trailer shot? The Eternals integrate into human society, and Ajak could simply work on a farm, run one or something like that. Maybe she also works as a kind of “horse whisperer”? This appears as a cleverly chosen “facade” or camouflage for a healer.

2: A welcome – or a farewell?

Next you can see 2 touching hands in the “Eternals” trailer, which, as the next shot shows, belong to Gemma Chan’s Sersi and Lia McHugh’s Sprite. On the beach from left to right are Eternals Druig (Barry Keoghan), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Sprite, Sersi, Thena (Angelina Jolie) and Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry).

But what’s going on here? Some of the objects behind the group could belong to some kind of space capsule that Sprite, the visually youngest member of the Eternals, first brought to Earth. Then the other Eternals welcome their newest member here?

Or the immortals say goodbye to immerse themselves in human society for the next 7,000 years. Either way, Sprite has a friendship with Gemma Chan’s Sersi, and the affectionate gesture of the two of them may illustrate just that.

3: The Eternals in the present

The next shot of the “Eternals” trailer, on the other hand, clearly shows the present, as demonstrated by both the modern clothing and the camera on the far left of comedian Kumail Nanjiani.

Pictured from left to right are: Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), Sprite, Sersi, Ikaris (Richard Madden), Thena and Gilgamesh (Ma-Dong Seok).

Clearly, the Eternals seem to be looking at an important figure here as a group. Is it a deviant, their powerful adversary? This would fit the voice-over “When you love something, you fight for it.”

Or the Eternals meet here for the first time in 7000 years – and opposite the group is Eternal Druig, who, according to the character description, is not clearly a friend or foe. This would explain the slightly grim look of Richard Madden and Co. in this short shot.
