The big Insomniac leak may have revealed further planned content – this time for the blockbuster Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Is a Beetle DLC possibly on the way?
Developer Insomniac Games famously fell victim to a hacker group that leaked all sorts of obtained documents online after the studio failed to meet ransom demands. In the course of this, a number of the studio’s future plans became public, but apart from upcoming new titles such as Marvel’s Wolverine, the leak may now also reveal DLC for the already published PlayStation top hit Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Files from the big leak have now appeared again, which were first discovered by Twitter user @zvis_ceral. These files suggest that Insomniac could release a Beetle DLC for Spider-Man 2 in the future. This would probably bring new missions, enemies and a boss fight.
Beetle has fought Spider-Man on several different occasions in the comics – and in the future this duel could also take place in the video game series. In any case, relevant information can be found in the newly surfaced files.
However, it is currently unclear whether the Beetle DLC will actually be implemented and published; Possibly the corresponding plans could already be outdated since the files are a little older. It is also conceivable that Insomniac could have completely changed its plans again in view of the hack.
As a result of the leak, solid details about the cast and locations of the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine had previously become public. The studio’s plans also included a Venom video game in fiscal year 2025, Spider-Man 3 in fiscal year 2028, an X-Men game in fiscal year 2030 and – far from the Marvel brands – a new Ratchet & Clank in fiscal year 2029.
