Sony has given a deadline for the PC implementation of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – but there is also sad news. No major new content appears to be on the agenda for the action game.
Sony has continued to intensify its PC efforts in recent months. So it’s no wonder that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the next big PlayStation blockbuster, is now making its way to the home computing machine. There is now a specific release date for this.
Sony and Insomniac Games have now confirmed that the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available from January 30, 2025. The release will take place both on the Epic Games Store and on Steam. The announcement was made at New York Comic-Con, where it was also confirmed that Nixxes Softwares is collaborating with Insomniac, Sony PlayStation and Marvel Games to optimize the game for PC.
Accordingly, the PC version will receive a whole range of platform-specific and improved features. There are advanced ray tracing options that are designed to take full advantage of the various setups and configurations. Ultra-widescreen support and various other graphical options are also on board here. However, the exact features as well as the PC system requirements will only be announced at a later date.
What is already certain, however, is that the PC version will be offered as both a standard edition and a deluxe edition. The normal version comes with all Spider-Man 2 updates since the PS5 launch, so it also includes 14 more suits, the New Game+ mode, ultimate levels, time of day options, post-game achievements, photo mode and more. In the Deluxe Edition you also get five exclusive suits for Peter Partker, five additional suits for Miles Morales, early access to the Arachknnight Suit (Peter) and Shadow Spider Suit (Miles), early access to the web grabber gadget, 5+ skill points and additional items for photo mode.
Although this is all a reason to be happy for PC gamers, there is also sad news about the game. In a blog post, Insomniac Games confirmed that Spider-Man 2 will no longer receive any further story content. There are no longer any internal plans to publish additional content.
