Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PC is here, and in terms of quality, it’s right up there with its predecessor. With one difference: the number of players at launch is significantly lower.
Somehow things aren’t going so well for the PC ports of Sony’s Playstation games at the moment. After the strong Spider-Man launch, the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection disappointed and the recently released Sackboy: A Big Adventure even went under mercilessly. This is certainly not due to the quality of the games.
A few days ago, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was released for the PC and Sony can hardly be satisfied with the first numbers, because with a peak of 13,539 players, the launch of Miles Morales is well below the number of players of the predecessor, which it after all, brought to over 66,000 simultaneous players.
From the previous seven PC launches under the Sony flag, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is in 5th place. God of War remains at the top with 73,529 players, followed by Spider-Man Remastered with 66,436 players and Horizon: Zero Dawn with 56,557 players. Miles Morales couldn’t get past Days Gone with 27,450 players either, it was only enough for Uncharted, which started surprisingly weak with 10,851 players. The sad last is Sackboy, who was only able to attract a lousy 610 players to the launch.
Surprisingly, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is the most recent Playstation game that Sony has brought to the PC and is at least on the same level in quality as Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. But maybe releasing the PC port in Call of Duty month wasn’t the most brilliant idea. You can read how we liked the game in our review of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
