On the occasion of the release of the new movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, two new costumes are coming for Marvel’s Spider-Man, but not for all versions and the reason sounds threadbare.
The fact that there will be two new (free) costumes for Marvel’s Spider-Man is good news in itself. Both the black, red and gold as well as the black and gold suit from the new film Spider-Man: No Way Home should come into play on December 10th before the film is released.
There is one problem, however, and that doesn’t exactly fill the hearts of the fans with joy. The costumes are only available for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PlayStation 5 as part of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ Ultimate Edition. Owners of the original PS4 game get nothing.
Insomniac Games also provides a reason for this, but it sounds a bit thin. Accordingly, due to the large number of updates that have already been released for the PS4 version, it would have been decided against the release of the two costumes. The numerous updates are intended to further strain the streaming performance of the PS4 hard drive and the aim is to ensure optimal performance for the PS4 players.
The reason is less popular with the fans. They tend to believe that Insomniac wants to break away from the PS4 version sooner or later and concentrate fully on the PS5 version, even in the run-up to the PS5-exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. How you twist and turn it: owner of the PS4 version look inside the tube.
