Neither the chainsaw, nor the gun, much less the rifle: the best weapon in Silent Hill 2 Remake is the tireless determination of its protagonist when traveling from end to end of the cursed town of Konami. Second best weapon? Mary the pipe. A blunt weapon, almost unbreakable and the exact size of a person that, in all likelihood, will further aggravate James’ own traumas and nightmares.
The new coming of Konami’s cult classic has not only resonated very well with players (already has been surpassed the million copies sold mark) but has awakened both his curiosity to discover the different endings and creativity. This week alone 67 new mods have appeared since the Nexusmods portal
The mod has been developed by FrancisLouis and it is installed very easily between the game files, although we will have to get to the part where James extracts the pipe in question, not long after running into María, to be able to use it. And be careful, the way it appears is surreal.
What can we do with Mary the pipe? Basically everything that we already did with the steel weapon: James’s wife will remain absolutely motionless while we hold her from her right heel and, from there, we can use it to mercilessly crush and even hit any nightmare creature that comes our way. the step
Appearing and disappearing from our inventory using James’ magic jacket in the same way that the table and the rest of the weapons appear on the screen. That said, the effect generated by using the pipe on Mary is genuinely crazy in a game where the tension, like fog, can almost be cut with a knife.
The mod is brilliant, but also incredibly simple in concept: FrancisLouis has basically replaced the object in question with the model of Mary that we see in the flashbacks and the photograph that James keeps in his jacket. All in all, and to give the idea the definitive point, if we go to the inventory we will find that Mary herself appears among the maps, ammunition, medicines and puzzle pieces that we are collecting.
Needless to say, it is not the only genius we found when sifting through the mods for the Silent Hill 2 remake: some are already working on giving the game a more photorealistic look and others are not satisfied with the Pyramid Head mask made with cardboard pizza boxes that we can put on our protagonist and allow him to let’s play with the real monster of our nightmares.
