Duelyst is back! Now, if that statement doesn’t elicit anything but a shrug, Duelyst is a beautifully pixelated digital trading card turn-based tactics game that was discontinued in 2017 due to lack of interest.
Now, under the name Duelyst 2, the game returns completely surprisingly and with Free2Play model back on Steam

Maurice becomes a streamer – that’s why there’s now more Maurice than ever before
Incidentally, Maurice was extremely impressed when he first tried Duelyst. For the original launch in 2016, Maurice wrote the following conclusion:
Duelyst mixes sophisticated turn-based tactics with card-collecting. A very successful alternative to titles like Hearthstone or Elder Scrolls: Legend, which stands out with a playing field instead of the classic card game board.
Duelyst 2 largely retains the basic principles of the original: With a combination of a finished deck and randomly drawn cards, you send your small army into battle against other monsters.
Positioning on the board is the key to success, along with a clever combination of minions, artifacts and magic spells. the six different factions promise thousands of possible combinations and strategies.
Incidentally, the old developers are no longer involved: Counterplay Games had published the game’s source code when Duelyst was scrapped. Now it’s the turn of the indie studio Dream Sloth Games, which was formed from Duelyst fans who didn’t want to let the project die.
