Polish your cufflinks and put on your best Sunday hats, today we’re strolling through the medieval old town of Anno 1800! Well, maybe not quite today, but at least soon. Because the release date for the old town package has finally been announced and the first pictures of the medieval DLC show: Even those who don’t like beautiful construction could get a little heart palpitations here.
The DLC will not only offer the possibility of building small castle complexes, but will also have a lot more in its luggage than previous cosmetic packages.
A different kind of cosmetic DLC
The Old Town Pack was announced back in May as the final cosmetic DLC for 2022. In the community vote, the medieval package won with an incredible majority against the nature park package and the Gothic package (editor’s note: Yay!). But more pictures or a release date have been a long time coming. Now the developers finally granted an impressive look at the old town package:
In doing so, the Old Town Pack will be bigger than any previous cosmetic DLC in many ways. Not only does it offer new ornaments like the Faire Pack or new building skins like the Busy Cities Pack – no, it has both! And that’s not all that’s in the Medieval DLC:
- Ornamente aus Anno 1404: In addition to new ornaments such as a herb garden, two objects from one of the most popular parts of Anno found their way to Anno 1800 with the medieval fountain and the »big statue«.
- New building skins: As in “Busy Cities”, the DLC also brings new skins for some buildings. A medieval style for craftsmen’s and workers’ houses, the town hall, the chamber of commerce and the school.
- Completely new building variants: In addition to these skins, the church is also getting a huge upgrade and can be built as a completely new church model in the impressive medieval style.
- Burgmauern: According to the developers, the new city wall system, including archways and watchtowers, even lets you build small castles, which should not only inspire castles expert Fabiano.
- New floor panels: Last but not least, the new cobblestone floor tiles should ensure a well-rounded picture in your old towns.
As you can see, the old town package will be a completely new playground for all the beautiful builders among us. Ahem, by the way, we have a guide recommendation for you:
