Who are we here? Alice Liguori is the new member of the team.
If you recognize Alice, it's because she used to work for RockPaperShotgun and was troubled by the video of PC nerds. Or, you may have seen some of Alice's regular Twitch streams on her personal channel.
Alice is now joining VG247, a popular gang and our new video producer responsible for increasing video output. She will produce most of the video works with the help of other members of the team, initially focusing on gameplay, features, guides, live broadcast, etc.
Alice is one of the best, highly respected and talented video producers in the British gaming media, and I am very happy that she joined her team. To be honest, we are all pumping.
We managed to build a moderate YouTube channel between us, but what we really need is someone to shape it and make a video that reflects our website and readers ’interests. Alice is that person.
We have a vision for VG247 video, which is not as simple as having someone "do" YouTube for us. It needs to reflect the content we publish on the website every day to meet the different needs of readers, whether they stay 10 minutes a day or appear here every day.
That may be a video that reflects and supports our written output on the website, or it may be a video that exists alone as a more powerful visual work. It also needs to attract viewers who like video rather than text, because this is 2020, and the video game media has already changed. Are we performing a dreadful "video perspective"? Do not. In addition to making hundreds of written pages every week, are we still making more videos? Yes. It needs to be produced in our own guerrilla, rude, arrogant and comprehensive style.
We need to hire a natural person, put a natural idea before and after the camera, and understand the video better than we do now. Like I said, Alice is that person.
