It is becoming increasingly unlikely that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released in 2024, given a new business report from Konami.
As is well known, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a comprehensive and very promising remake of the Metal Gear series that is currently in the works and is currently scheduled to be released in 2024. In view of a new annual report from Konami, it is becoming increasingly unlikely that this will actually happen.
Previously, Sony had repeatedly brought up the current year 2024 as the release period for the remake in its marketing, while Konami kept a low profile as much as possible. Konami has now commented on the publication of new business figures for the second quarter of the current fiscal year and in this context continued to quote “TBD” (= To Be Declared) as the release period for Metal Gear Solid Delta.
In short: Even though the 2024 calendar year is coming to an end, the game still has no date. If you consider that such a major release is usually accompanied by a major marketing campaign in advance, it is now quite unlikely that a release date will be set in 2024.
In the annual report for the fiscal year, which runs until March 31, 2025, it only says that they are continuing to work hard to get the remake of Snake Eater ready for launch. Konami also chose exactly this choice of words in its last annual report a few months ago, so not much seems to have happened on this front. Metal Gear Solid Delta doesn’t seem to have made any significant progress in the past few months that a specific release date could be given.
In all likelihood, Konami itself is now targeting 2025 for the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. We will of course keep you up to date if there is any new information about this.
