Despite a delay of one year, Metro Exodus still performed very well on Steam.

Subway Exodus Probably the ugliest case of jetty jumping from Steam to the Epic Games Store. After months of being pre-ordered on Steam, publisher Deep Silver sold it without warning.

It turns out that was because the game was selected by Epic as an exclusive EGS product. Valve was dissatisfied with this and didn't expect those who wished to release the game on Steam in 2019, triggering a massive review campaign to blow up old Metro games.

After the Deep Silver parent company made it clear that the situation could be better handled, it said that the decision to cooperate with Epic was entirely a decision of Koch Media. A year later, Metro Exodus arrived on Steam as promised and received a huge start-up discount.

Embracer Group CEO Lars Wingefors said the launch was very successful. Embracer is the parent company of THQ Nordic and Deep Silver.

Wingefors said on the group's third-quarter earnings call: "I'm glad to see it performs well and has sold 200,000 copies."

Wingefors was also surprised to find that "a great power in Asia" (probably referring to China) constituted the game's largest audience on Steam.

Although Embracer has never revealed sales figures for the Epic Store, the company has previously stated that despite overall higher sales on consoles compared to PCs, revenue is still higher than PS and Xbox stores.
