The Metroid Prime Remaster has launched and has had a huge impact among its fans, but the impressive game doesn’t do it justice for those who compare the new look to the original game. It looks fantastic.
Thanks to the video embedded below, we can see exactly how far we’ve come in terms of visual fidelity and graphics quality. Brand new assets, completely recreated and faithfully recreated from the original game, go a long way in bringing the classic back to life.
The term remastering is widely used. On the one hand, it’s used for marketing when the game gets a fresh coat of paint, but not much else. Metroid Prime Remaster represents the flip side of video game remakes: an overhaul of countless aspects that requires more legwork. As the video above shows, everything from lighting to FPS and resolution has received a major upgrade.
All this work, if nothing else, has kept Metroid fans very happy. A community that has long relied on its devices finally has a new game to dig their teeth into. So what if it’s just Prime again? As if you need an excuse to go back and play again.
What do you think of this remake? It came out of nowhere during last night’s Nintendo Direct, so if you haven’t downloaded it yet, do so now and let us know what you think!
