Who would have thought that a character as likeable as Mickey could scare players so much in the Disney Dreamlight Valley game? Explanations.
Disney Dreamlight Valley free-to-play game has been available since September 6, 2022. Overall, it’s a hybrid game between life simulator and adventure game, which inevitably revolves around the characters of the American giant, with its proudest representative: Mickey. Except that very quickly, players realized something was wrong with Mickey’s design, to the point where it got scary.
When Disney’s most famous character wants to steal your soul
While the entire character matches our childhood or adult vision of Disney’s most famous mouse, particularly in size and clothing, the problem lies solely in the character’s looks. The eyes seem to be too close together. Additionally, Mickey’s eyes are designed to follow your character as you move, giving a very inquisitive and very unhealthy look. It didn’t take more elements to have fun with the spooky aspect of this Disney character.
There is even one Reddit topic entirely dedicated to this anecdote. Obviously we suspect this is all unintentional and that it’s just a simple little design issue, but it’s scary nonetheless. Especially when Mickey follows you everywhere. To illustrate this phenomenon we find this screenshot of Kotaku, as you can see the eyes are strange. In short, a Disney horror version is possible.
