Microsoft is laying off 10,000 employees
This Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Microsoft announced new job cuts after those in October 2022. The Redmond-based company will lay off 10,000 employees, or 5% of its payroll, by the end of March. Unfortunately, when layoffs have abounded in the tech world in recent months and employees at Meta and Amazon have not been spared, the timing is sure to make people cringe. Despite downturns in some sectors, Microsoft is a very healthy giant that will also buy Activision Blizzard for $70 billion.
