Another flaw that affects consoles, this time we are talking about wireless Xbox controllers, the peripherals seem to be particularly rare in Europe.
Apparently, Microsoft suffers from a frontal shortage of Xbox controllers. In the UK, for example, there are currently no controllers of any color in stock, at the main retailers (GAME, Smyths, etc.) and even the official Microsoft Store.
The situation seems to be similar in many regions and not only in Europe, as confirmed by forum users Reset to default about their difficulties in finding controllers. This affects various countries, including Australia, France, the Netherlands and Germany.
Microsoft confirms Xbox controller disconnects
As reported video game chronicleMicrosoft officially confirms the defect:
We know that Xbox Wireless Controllers can be difficult to find at this time due to shipping disruptions.
We are working with our manufacturing and trading partners as soon as possible to improve this. Please check with your local dealer for availability.
The global chip shortage is one thing, but this time even peripherals seem to be affected. At the moment this doesn’t seem to affect the US as it always seems possible to get a controller through the Official Store.
In Europe, one of the few ways to find one is to go through the Xbox Designlab as the website indicates delivery within 28 days.
