Cyberpunk 2077 is clearly not going to end anytime soon. Following the announcement of the return of the PS4 version of the game to PlayStation Store earlier this week, CD Projekt RED’s Xbox One version of the RPG is making a name for itself.

Microsoft has just announced that its special refund policy, specifically designed to handle claims related to Cyberpunk 2077, will end on July 6th. The Xbox Customer Service website recently posted a message advising it is returning to normal processing of refund requests for defective games purchased from the Microsoft Store. To justify the matter, the American glove recalls the work CD Projekt RED has done on the game over the past few months:
The PROJEKT RED CD team continues to do everything possible to improve the Cyberpunk 2077 experience for Xbox players and has made a number of updates. With these bets Microsoft will be revoking its default Cyberpunk 2077 digital game refund policy on July 6th for new and existing purchases.
Shortly after the chaotic console version of Cyberpunk 2077 released last December, both Microsoft and Sony faced a wave of dissatisfied customers. If Sony was quick to decide to remove the game from its PlayStation Store, Microsoft has since decided to keep it on sale while greatly relaxing its refund rules (all refund requests have been approved).
Not perfect yet, but there is better
It seems, therefore, that the Redmond company now believes that the Polish studio has made a sufficient number of fixes to apply the new Cyberpunk 2077 to the same refund restrictions as other titles offered in the Microsoft Store.
That being said, the American glove continues to warn potential buyers of the game on the page of its virtual store dedicated to Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, a message presented on the latter indicates:
Gamers may experience performance issues on Xbox One until the game is updated.
For your information, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077 continue to receive regular updates that aim to optimize these “old Gen” versions, but also to limit crashes and reduce the number of errors. If problems persist, the situation is no longer the same as when the game was released.
And what about the next-gen update of Cyberpunk 2077 for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S concerns, CD Projekt RED is still talking about a release at the end of the year.
What do you think of this Microsoft decision? Do you think it is in his right to revert to his normal refund policy after six months of Cyberpunk 2077 updates? Do you keep waiting for the next-gen version of the game before jumping in? Tell us all about it in the comments below.
