Downloading free games like Fortnite or Rocket League attract a huge number of users. Are millions of people who become potential consumers of advertising and that line is what Microsoft wants to open to advertisers.
As reported from Business Insider, the company is working on a program that allows ads to be placed within free Xbox titles. In fact, you’re already on the lookout for ad tech companies to handle the entire process.
The sources consulted by the media indicate that a method to display advertising will be to use billboards in which the advertising displayed will vary. Of course, they have not been able to confirm if the extension of the messages will reach skins, videos in the waiting rooms of the works or other formats.
They do manage to point to a launch window, being approximately around the third quarter of 2022. Of course, sources point out that it does not seem that Microsoft’s intention is to take part of the advertising revenue. Its aim is to create the program with which the game developer and the advertising technology company can share the revenue.
