Ransomware (malware that takes personal information hostage) is a real nuisance that threatens both individuals and businesses. To fight this real digital scourge, it’s time for the Ransomware Task Force. Will it be effective?

The Ransomware Task Force It’s a bit like the Avengers, just for IT and fighting ransomware. To achieve this goal, 19 companies and players in the industry formed this true war coalition, led by Microsoft and MacAfee. There are also other companies specializing in computer security such as Rapid7, but also and above all government agencies (mostly Anglo-Saxon).
War is declared!
The launch will take effect in 2021 and aims to identify security gaps (in the cybersecurity environment) and propose appropriate responses. This is a major concern for the security of many companies around the world, and even for an increasing number of individuals who are far more affected by this scam than before.
An agenda and a website are planned for January 2021. From next spring, concrete measures will have to be taken.
