Microsoft is testing new features that do not require an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
Currently available for Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha’s Xbox Insiders, the feature being tested is that you no longer need an Xbox Live Gold account to play multiplayer games in free games.
Microsoft said that they are aware that the title does not currently support the existing free multiplayer game tests in the preview version. Currently working with the studio because the title needs to be updated to support this service change.
Titles currently not supported include Destiny 2 with Call of Duty: War Zone.
The company is also testing Party Chat and Looking 4 Groups that no longer require a Gold subscription.
These features have been released before the official release.
The Alpha comment also mentions a fix for users who cannot enable HDR on the console.
The latest version also applies new firmware for the Xbox wireless headset, which contains a fix for the status sound volume, which has been reduced and the microphone monitoring level has been improved.
