Microsoft had already announced that it would launch an extensive showcase around E3. The date for this has now been set and it is not particularly surprising, considering another news item of the day.
Microsoft has confirmed that there will be a big Xbox Game Studios showcase on Sunday, June 11th. The announcement is related to the announcement of the Starfield release date and the planned extensive presentation of the new Bethesda role-playing game. Said #StarfieldDirect is supposed to take place right after the Xbox showcase.
“Join us for #StarfieldDirect following the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, June 11”, heißt es aus dem Hause Microsoft.
Most recently, Microsoft held an event in January and announced the release date of Redfall, among other things, but also had an exciting shadow drop on board with Hi-Fi Rush. At that time it was already clear that a more extensive showcase was in mind for June.
That makes sense, since Xbox Game Studios still has plenty of titles in the pipeline that haven’t seen any new material for a long time, such as the new Fable, the role-playing game Avowed, Hellblade 2 and other exciting exclusives. A final release date for Forza Motorsport could also be an issue there, should Microsoft not come out with it beforehand.
But no matter what, pretty much all titles that will be seen in the Xbox Showcase are likely to be overshadowed by the presentation of Starfield – after all, we’ve been waiting half an eternity for a new title from Bethesda Game Studios.
