More free content for Minecraft
If there is a game with endless possibilities, it is this one. Minecraft. Based on its basic concept alone, players have had fun doing anything and everything since the game was first released several years ago. But the best part is that the developers have never stopped working on adding more content, and players are regularly discovering new things to do in the game, which ultimately has little in common with what it was in 2011. Good news for those still building the world of their dreams on Minecraft, The developers have announced that they plan to release even more things in the future.
In fact, the boss of Minecraft (Ryan Cooper) published a post just a few days ago on the games website talk about its future. The opportunity to celebrate 15 years since the release of the first playable version in 2009, but also to talk about future additions. Among them, Above all, we see a desire to produce more free content:
We know you want more new Minecraft content, more often, and that’s why we’re changing our pace of developing new features. Instead of offering you a free update every summer, like we’ve done in the past, we’ll now release a bunch of new free content throughout the year. These updates will vary in size and bring features to discover more frequently.
Finally a native PS5 version! Just in time for the PS5 Pro?
If you’re noticing that the time between each update is long, it seems that the Minecraft developers are finally looking to speed things up. But alongside this announcement, Ryan Cooper also talked about another aspect that might please some players: the game’s availability on all current consoles. While the game has been available natively on the Xbox Series since the launch of the Microsoft console, PS5 players have always had to make do with the backwards compatibility of the PS4 version. Almost 4 years after the release of the Sony console, Minecraft should finally be entitled to its PS5 version:
Right now we’re also working on bringing a native version of Minecraft to PlayStation 5, because Minecraft is even better when friends can play together on whatever computers they want.
Currently, Mojang has not announced a release date for this famous PS5 versionSome might imagine it will coincide with the release of the PlayStation 5 Pro (expected on November 7), although we can’t really say that Minecraft needs an 800 euro console to run perfectly. To be sure, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Mojang.
