it looks like my world The film’s cast continues to grow, with the latest addition being none other than Jennifer Coolidge.

If you’re looking for a cast with a wide range of characters, the Minecraft movie might be the one for you. Deadline reported earlier today that Coolidge, who recently won another Primetime Emmy for her performance in “The White Lotus,” will join the cast of the “Minecraft” movie from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. There’s no word on what her character might be, though Minecraft isn’t known for its characters, so it could actually be anything.

Coolidge joins the likes of Jason Momoa, Emma Miles, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen and Bowser himself, Jack Black, and he might even Play as Minecraft Steve. The cast is pretty strong so far, but that’s pretty much all we know about the movie so far. Director Jared Hess recently spoke about his concerns with the film, specifically trying to avoid an “ugly Sonic situation,” and he also talked about adapting a game with very little storyline. “Trying to adapt something that doesn’t have a story – it’s an open sandbox game… I like the challenge. There’s got to be a fun, ridiculous movie here. And there is.”

While it might just be called Minecraft, the untitled Minecraft movie was technically first announced back in 2014, though things like casting didn’t really happen until the past year or so confirm. We got word last year that the movie would be released sometime in 2025, and aside from the current cast list and release window, all we know is that it will be shot in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Coolidge’s popularity has rebounded in recent years, in part due to her role in “The White Lotus.” Technically, her appearance in the Minecraft movie wasn’t her first foray into video games, as she did appear in the video game adaptation Robots , though whether that actually matters is up for debate.
