The film adaptation of Minecraft continues to take shape. Another actress has now been found for the film – and it is none other than Stifler’s Mom from the classic “American Pie”.
The cast of the upcoming Minecraft film seems to be shaping up quite nicely. The list of confirmed actors has now grown and there are several bigger names among them. Now there’s the next new addition, and it’s probably making the hearts of older children among us beat a little faster: It’s actually the actress who played Stifler’s mom in “American Pie.”
As Deadline reports, Jennifer Coolidge is now also on board in the Minecraft film, although it is still unclear what role she will take on. However, she is part of the cast of Minecraft – and that is definitely a coup. After all, Coolidge has also made a name for herself after her legendary appearance as Stifler’s Mom and was recently awarded the Primetime Emmy for her performance in the series “The White Lotus.”
Warner Bros. and Legendary are by no means making a mess when it comes to casting the roles in the Minecraft movie. Previously confirmed were Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugen Hansen and Jack Black – another pretty iconic actor. Black could even play the role of Minecraft Steve in the film.
Director Jared Hess has a lot of acting talent at his side to make Minecraft a worthy film. Nevertheless, he has also emphasized in the past that this will definitely be a challenge. After all, as a sandbox game, Minecraft doesn’t really have a plot – so turning it into a worthy film is definitely a challenge.
The Minecraft movie was originally announced in 2014, but further planning was repeatedly delayed. Now the topic is picking up speed and the release is planned for sometime in 2025. Filming will take place in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
