When modders and players present their maximum Skyrim graphics, there is usually a big catch: In order to be able to enjoy the chic look, you either need a 3,000 euro PC or you experience Skyrim as a slide show and melt your graphics card. An example:
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
Hardly recognizable thanks to graphic mods
A new mod is now making the forests of Skyrim many times more beautiful and detailed almost single-handedly, but without a catch. Because players are amazed to find that there is little or no impact on performance.
This is what the new forests look like
Of course I can tell you a lot about the level of detail, textures and grass density here, but pictures still say more than a thousand words. Fortunately, the modder with the euphonious name fxckthisworld

The author states on Nexusmods that he simply has not found a modification that makes what he imagines out of the forests of Skyrim, which seem boring to him. Without further ado, he gave even the forests of the aging role-playing game a general overhaul.
The mod replaces most of the existing trees with its own models and also fills the forests with new tree species. It also adds more detail and increases the overall density of the vegetation, up to five times according to the author.
You can already see the result above: We can hike through dense, atmospheric forests that still look like Skyrim, but sometimes almost seem like a new edition of the open world. So far, the modder has only been able to rework the regions around Falkreath, Riverwood and Riften, but in the future the winter areas and Morthal should also shine in new splendor.
While for most modders their projects are just a hobby, the Digital Dreams YouTuber has turned pimping old games into a career. In an interview he talks about his work:

However, the most surprising thing about the prettied forests is that installing the mod is unlikely to have any impact on performance. At least that’s what many players report on Nexusmods, who are consistently enthusiastic about the look and technology of the new forests.
And the author also explains on the website that his tree models were designed to be relatively gentle on the hardware. When we asked him, however, he pointed out that the mod can definitely affect the performance of the game, especially on older systems. However, he tried to ensure good technical implementation in order to keep the performance losses low.
Good performance or not, Rae Grimm and Michael Graf love mods and have therefore dedicated their own podcast episode to the topic:
Modding
The best thing that can happen to PC gaming
By the way, if you want to marvel at the forests with your own dragon blood, you can download the mod on Nexusmods.com download. However, note the installation instructions and the necessary requirements. For example, you must unofficial patch
Install for Skyrim to use the mod.
