Update 1.5 was recently released for Stardew Valley and expanded the game with a whole load of new content. A mod by the name »Ridgeside Village« wants to follow in these big footsteps and expand the farm simulation to a similar extent.
As extensive as an add-on
The list of innovations reads quite extensive. Accordingly, fans should be busy with the work for a long time. The new area not only offers a city, but also special festivals, NPCs and even its own story, which is not part of the Stardew Valley canon. The official list of features includes the following extensions:
- A completely new city
- 24 new NPCs
- Own quests
- Over 160 new events
- New business
- Additional festivals
The creator dedicates a separate section to the NPCs themselves. The 24 new faces come with their own Daily routines, dialogues and events. You can also marry ten of them.
However, the list of all these changes is not even exhaustive. There is also a completely new soundtrack and further adjustments that the developer does not announce on the mod page himself.
Installation of Mod
The installation of the mod is very simple. You simply have to unzip the archive into the Stardew Valley Mods folder after the download. Ridgeside Village is then not only compatible with the single player, but also with the multiplayer and should not cause any problems even with existing saved games.
More mods for Stardew Valley
The game’s mod community is quite active and has published some interesting projects in the past. Among them there is also a project that has the title in a real role play transformed.
more on the subject
Thanks to the mod, Stardew Valley becomes a small role-playing game – with quests, dialogues and more
How it will go in the future with Stardew Valley is not yet known. The work on Update 1.5 has already taken over a year. In 2020, the developer also announced that he was working on several spin-offs.
