Air lovers have reason to celebrate. Not just because of Microsoft Flight Simulator soon to be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the series, but because of the massive updates that came with it.
But there is already reason enough to get back into the cockpit: in keeping with gamescom, five Europe cities have been shown in much more detail since August 24 than they were before.
In the following Plus article, we clarify whether the free content can keep up with the paid DLCs:

Europe cities in new splendor
The locations have been reworked using photogrammetry. Another word for this is image measurement. This means that with the help of photographs, the location and shape of the city is measured more precisely and is therefore clearly displayed in more detail on your screen.
The newly revised cities are:
- Hannover
- Düsseldorf
- Köln
- Dortmund
- Bonn
Some Europe cities have already been implemented using this method, including Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Aachen. With the new locations, 24 Europe cities are included in the Microsoft Flight Simulator via photogrammetry.
