Not only the Mortal Kombat game series is getting a reboot, in the film area one has already been released – and now a sequel is on the agenda. You could now fill another role for this.
The list of casts for the movie sequel “Mortal Kombat 2” continues to grow, so that another important role could now be filled. What is meant this time is that of Jade, who is embodied in the strip by Tati Gabrielle; that reports now The Hollywood Reporter
Gabrielle is therefore in “final negotiations” to finally join the cast and appear in the film sequel to the Mortal Kombat strip released in 2021. Jade, who is an assassin and friend of Kitana’s, will then embody herself there, who didn’t exist in the first film.
The actress is best known for her role on Netflix’s ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,’ but she has also appeared in ‘The Owl House’ and last year’s video game adaptation ‘Uncharted.’ In this respect, Gabrielle already has experience with the film implementation of video games.
Most recently, other newcomers had been confirmed for the film sequel. Karl Urban, known from “Dredd” and “The Boys”, will therefore embody the iconic Johnny Cage in the new film.
Simon McQuoid, who was previously responsible for the 2021 film in this role, is to direct the film. Scripted by Jeremy Slate (“Moon Knight”, “The Umbrella Academy”). There is no specific release date for the sequel yet.
In the gaming area itself, NetherRealm announced a reboot of the Beat’em Up series in the form of Mortal Kombat 1 just a few days ago.
