Mortal Shell sends you into a dark and torn world where the remains of humanity are rotting away. On the orders of the mysterious Dark Father, you roam the world as part of a non-linear campaign to find hidden enclaves of his followers. On your way you will of course face dark and powerful opponents. All over the world there are also lost warriors, whose mortal covers you can revive and take over to take over their skills and weapon knowledge.
The combat system wants to rely on tactics and finesse instead of pure knocking. Timing, skillful parades and counterattacks should play a major role. Your weapons can also be upgraded, like poison on the blade, and you can enhance your attacks with supernatural effects. It all sounds a lot like a Dark Souls and should be released this year, probably in the 3rd quarter, for PC and consoles. A beta test is at your fingertips for anyone looking to register on the Discord Channel.

Cold Symmetry is a newly founded developer studio, currently with a team of 15. Two of the founders come from well-known studios: Anton Gonzales was Senior Environment Artist at Sucker Punch (Infamous, Ghost of Tsushima), Vitaly Bulgarov worked at Blizzard as a Cinematic Artist. Mortal Shell itself was previously called Dungeonhaven – the renaming was definitely a good idea.
