Who would have been surprised? With its long-awaited early access version, Mount & Blade 2 was able to do so after seven years of development conquer the Steam Charts immediately. However, Resident Evil 3 is on the heels of the medieval hit – twice! Is the replacement for the new heir to the throne lurking here?
That Resi is represented twice would not be unusual in itself, if you could buy a special edition or something similar to the normal game. But there is only one version of the horror shooter on Steam. Are we here at X-Factor: The Incredible? After all, the spirit of last week has disappeared!
Resident Evil 3 fights Biohazard 3
What happened? In second place, the remake of Resident Evil 3 can be found on Steam. And in third place is an ominous title called Biohazard RE: 3. A cheap copy? Not at all! Biohazard is called Resident Evil in its country of origin Japan.
Why does this name appear in the charts? The solution should be that Steam considers pre-orders and sales after release as separate entries. Number three is likely to apply to the former, but second to the latter. Why Capcom messes up the names remains a mystery.
