The medieval role-playing game Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlords shows off Steam with tons of good ratings and was able to win over many players. Now a modder has set himself the task of completely turning the role-playing game inside out and turning it into a strategy game.
We liked the strategic approach back then, even if there were still a few construction sites here and there, as Peter found in his test on GameStar Plus:

The RPG is better than ever, but the wait continues
Role play becomes strategy
Strategy hits as great role models: The ambitious mod focuses entirely on strategy and brings with it many gameplay mechanics that you should know from genre colleagues such as Age of Empires or The Settlers. As befits a strategy game, in this mod you can manage resources, erect buildings and of course create units and command them.
There are also different epochs that you have to go through in order to unlock new technologies. However, the modder has put the main focus on the AI, so that they can act independently and build a city organically.
This is how the first gameplay looks like: How this is supposed to play is presented Bloc

It remains Mount & Blade 2: However, the modder wants to keep the spirit of Mount & Blade 2, which is why it is possible to switch back to the third-person view to be able to fight in the battles in real time. Fortunately, he is not all alone and thanks the two users in particular FoozieMcDoozle
and Errayn
who mostly took care of modeling buildings and characters.
According to the roadmap, the developers of Mount & Blade 2 themselves also want to ensure more strategy in their role-playing games in the future:

Release and costs: Bloc has not yet revealed a release date for the mod, but he shares progress relatively often on his YouTube-Channel. So far it is also not known whether the mod should cost something or be freely available to everyone. The modder also owns one Patreon-Websitebut only sells certain gimmicks for his Discord or pre-recordings of his videos.
