Anyone who runs a large YouTube channel or is generally one of the spearheads of the influencer scene opens some doors that remain closed to others. For example, according to Mr. Beast, he recently received an invitation that he luckily didn’t accept.

YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as Mr. Beast, should be glad he didn’t accept a friend’s invitation. As the influencer announced in a tweet, he was given the opportunity to take a dive trip to the Titanic on board the Titan. However, he declined. A lucky decision, because it is well known that the submarine imploded, and all five members of the expedition died in the course of the incident.

According to Mr. Beast, “I was invited to ride on the Titanic submarine earlier this month, I said no. Pretty scary that I could have been on board.”

Donaldson does not go on to reveal the identity of his friend. According to the attached screenshot, however, he was on board the Titan, at least it sounded very safe. Perhaps the person changed his mind or had another expedition in mind.

In the community, however, the authenticity of Mr. Beast’s statement is currently being questioned. Because the speech bubble is blue on the supposed iMessage screenshot – but that’s actually only the case if you send a message yourself. According to Donaldson, the said friend sent him the picture when he invited him.

The Titan is thought to have imploded shortly after the expedition launched on June 18, 2023 at a depth of about 10,000 feet. The plan was to travel to the wreck of the Titanic, which sank in 1912, and the dive trip was operated by the company OceanGate. There has been a lot of criticism of the ship and its safety in the past, and the situation is explained well in the video attached below. Five people died, including Stockton Rush, the founder of OceanGate.
