MultiVersus temporarily removes LeBron James from the game

game, James, LeBron, Multiversus, removes, temporarily

Just as Bastion and Torbjörn are returning to Overwatch 2, we see Mei temporarily quit the game. As it turns out, it wasn’t about banning the character this morning, MultiVersus also removed LeBron James from the fighting game.

Announced last night (October 31) via MultiVersus Twitter, the NBA champion and MultiVersus character has been disabled due to a “serious error.” The tweet also states that once the bug is fixed, the character will be enabled again. Not sure how long this will last.

Why was LeBron James removed from MultiVersus? Well, according to players on Twitter who mostly shared memes about the character being removed, it’s because LeBron James’ special attack — his dunk — should see his ball removed from his hand. That didn’t happen, and those who play LeBron can hit opponents anywhere on the map.

“Dunks don’t get rid of the ball,” said one Twitter user simply. If you’re a MultiVersus player, I guess that’s all you need to know.

As such, LeBron James won’t be in your game anytime soon, and there’s no indication of when the role will return. That said, MultiVersus just introduced Black Adam to the game, so while we’re eagerly awaiting LeBron James’ return, we’ve got at least one new character to play with.
