One of the most important days at the beginning of each year is the celebration of the arrival of the wise men on January 6, with its corresponding parade the day before. The little ones have the habit of writing them a letter to ask for gifts that will be waiting for them as soon as they get up.
But writing a letter shouldn’t just be for kids, so I myself have proposed to write one too just in case the flute sounds and at some point in 2023 some of my requests and wishes related to video games end up being fulfilled. For trying not to stay.
Dear wise men,
The most common thing is to write you a letter asking for a series of gifts that I would love to receive, but the truth is that in terms of video games I don’t have a special need for something to arrive this week either. Thanks to services like PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass or those that are free in stores, I am well served, since I don’t have the life to play everything that is added every month.
Instead, instead of receiving everything at once in one day, I am going to trust your magical power for a series of requests that I would love to see come true throughout this year. As if it were some kind of voucher that I can redeem little by little as the next few months go by.
As a fan of Nintendo games, I would love for Nintendo to once and for all show some official Metroid Prime 4 material, which after so many years of waiting, it is high time that it comes out, even if it is a small teaser. Good Mario deserves a new adventure and above all that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is not delayed, one of the best that will arrive on Nintendo Switch this year.
If you could talk to Microsoft or use your magic to continue to power Xbox Game Pass that would be quite nice, as it has in 2022, so that we have tons of titles to hang out with every month. Of course, please, do something so that they do not forget their most demanded franchises, such as Gears of War or Fable, which is already playing to learn something about them again.
Three quarters of the same thing happens with Sony, so a good gift would be if they didn’t relax and surprise us all with great exclusive games. Above all, starting next month with PlayStation VR2, which since it’s going to cost a lot (if it comes as a gift I’m not going to complain either), at least it comes out with a decent catalog that is being expanded regularly.
I am also going to ask you not to have so many video game delays. Right now 2023 looks very interesting because in the final stretch of 2022 it was a rare day that we did not publish news about a game that postponed its date, so it would be good not to experience a similar situation again. And if there are no cancellations, even better.
But not everything has to do directly with videogames, because there are series and movies based on them that have their premiere pending throughout the year, so another good gift would be that all these products end up being good enough to have new seasons. , sequels or even more adaptations are produced.
Another fantastic news is that E3, one of the biggest video game events, will return with a new edition after a few years of absence due to the pandemic. I imagine that on other occasions you will have received letters from kids asking you for games that have been presented there, but in my case I ask that the event return in style, with conferences that make us bite our nails with expectation.
And speaking of events, that in the final stretch of the year the Game Awards leave us with a ceremony as brilliant as that of 2022. One that makes us live with emotion and the desire to discover which of the great launches that will take place will win the jackpot, but this time no spontaneous sneaks in, despite the laughter and memes it could generate.
It may be a very demanding letter and it will be difficult to comply with all my wishes and requests. I would understand if it was. At least, I would be satisfied if you managed to put aside the console war that is everywhere on social networks, which leads nowhere, and even more so that we do not have to witness the closure of any studio or say goodbye from any industry celebrity.
In short, health to all and that we can continue having fun with one of our greatest passions. Thank you very much dear Magi.
And what are you going to ask the Magi?
