2K and Visual Concepts will continue the long-running NBA 2K basketball series this year. A real legend is honored on the new cover – and a long-awaited feature is finally being introduced.
2K and Visual Concepts have confirmed the new NBA 2K24 and announced the first information, although a detailed presentation of the new features is still pending. What is already certain, however, is that the cover will pay tribute to the late legend Kobe Bryant.
Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash, marks the second time he has been featured on the cover of an NBA 2K title, having previously appeared on NBA 2K21’s Mamba Forver Edition.
The new part NBA 2K24, which will be available in September 2023, should therefore now be available in two versions: the Kobe Bryant Edition and the Black Mamba Edition; You can see the different covers on the artworks in this report. Pre-orders should be possible later today.
Incidentally, Greg Thomas, his acting president of developer Visual Concepts, commented on the new game and confirmed that a much-anticipated feature will be introduced to the series for the first time: cross-play. So you will be able to play NBA 2K24 with your friends across different platforms.
The specific release date and further gameplay information are still pending.
