Need for Speed: Underground MOD has significantly upgraded this 17-year-old game.
Need for Speed: Underground Redux is the 2017 version of AMTxDRxRL, with many visual upgrades to the 2003 game. This module enhances the texture with Reshade, which is again the focus of attention due to ray tracing.
Another Modre Stre1itzia decided to port the original Redux mod to the latest version of Reshade and add its own new ray tracing shader. The modifier posts the results in the video below, showing a considerable upgrade.
Although there is currently no way to download these adjustments, Stre1itzia says that you should expect a significant increase in performance. The performance of this game is three times lower than games using vanilla Redux, although it may be improved after optimization. It's unclear exactly where ray tracing is applied here, so some of these settings may be switchable.
If nothing else, these materials allow us to look into the future and understand the appearance of the next generation of Need for Speed.
Thank you, DualShockers.
