Neither Elden Ring nor God of War is the best game of 2022

Best Game of 2022 According to BAFTA Game Awards – drum roll – no, not Elden Ring. Neither does God of War Ragnarok. And no, cat fans will be badly disappointed, it wasn’t Stray either. The pixelated roguelike Vampire Survivors took the prize for Best Game 2022.

The indie game with the simple graphics has prevailed against the powerful competition thanks to a great gameplay loop. And it also skimmed off a second prize. In our test, you can read why the gameplay of Vampire Survivors is extremely simple, but also incredibly fun.

So Vampire Survivors won the Best Game race. Developer Poncle took yet another award take home, namely the BAFTA award for design. Apparently they were quite surprised themselves by the success:

God of War Ragnarök was the second big winner of the night. The second part of the new Kratos saga secured six awards. And Elden Ring also took home two awards, including best multiplayer.
