Adam through time
Movie Netflix Sorti en 2022, Adam through time takes place in the year 2050, in a future where time travel is rampant. Pilot Adam Reed (played by Ryan Reynolds) embarks on a journey to 2018 to find a missing person. A miscalculation sees him fail in 2022, where he meets his alter ego from the past (played by Walker Scobell). Together they will attempt to travel in 2018, crossing the paths of their father, Louis Reed (played by Mark Ruffalo), the inventor of time travel. By protecting each other, they learn to be better, the future Adam to accept his past and the past Adam to take advantage of the time to come, and finally the father to take advantage of his family. This feature film full of action and visual effects wants to touch you with its vision and its allegory of time. Directed by Shawn Levy, to whom we owe Free Guy or the saga of La Nuit au Musée.
Lou
Lou is a 2022 Netflix action thriller film directed by Anna Foerster, her second feature film in that position after Underworld: Blood Wars (2016). Here we are in 1986 on Orcas Island in Washington State. Lou (played by Allison Janney) is a lonely old lady living in seclusion with her dog. Her quiet little life is suddenly disturbed by her neighbor Hannah (played by Jurnee Smollett), who enlists her help in finding her kidnapped daughter, Vee. What should have been a “simple” kidnapping becomes a federal case involving the CIA, with Vee’s kidnapper being a relative and a casual war criminal on the run (played by Logan Marshall-Green). In this hunt in the middle of a storm, Lou reveals herself and has none of the older person unable to fight back. In contact with this youth, Hannah will rediscover a taste for life while accepting her past.
love and monsters
love and monsters is set after a nuclear catastrophe that turned animals into bloodthirsty monsters, bringing about the downfall of human civilization. The rest of humanity now lives in seclusion underground. In this context, Joël Dawson (played by Dylan O’Brien) decides to go underground after 7 years in search of his childhood sweetheart: Aimée (played by Jessica Henwick). The problem is that Joël no longer knows this world ruled by creatures, each more dangerous than the other. During his adventure, he crosses paths with a dog and even joins forces with other survivors used to living in the open air: Clyde Dutton (played by Michael Rooker) and Minnow (played by Ariana Greenblatt). Our two regulars will teach Joël how to survive and help him on his quest. Released on Netflix in 2021, this post-apo adventure film is directed by Michael Matthews.
Back to zombie land
Back to zombie land is a 2019 post-apocalyptic comedy film directed by Ruben Fleischer. This feature film is the sequel to Welcome to zombie land by the same director, released 10 years earlier. In this second installment we find our shock quartet: Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin). Our team must face hordes of zombies while dealing with their personal problems. Columbus and Wichita live their lives as a couple and Columbus plans to propose to Wichita. Little Rock would like to travel the world to meet people his own age, while Tallahassee seeks his place in this group and in this shattered world. The four will meet other survivors with whom, most importantly, they will learn to live like a new family.
Security
Security lets us follow the character of Eduardo Deacon (played by Antonio Banderas): he embodies a former marine traumatized by his missions. To recover and support his family, he desperately searches for work to get back on his feet. Eventually he gets hired as a night watchman in a shopping mall, but things don’t go as planned: just before the store closes, a young girl comes and asks him for help. She is being hunted by a man willing to give the ex-Marine a million dollars in exchange for the young girl. He refuses, and so begins a chase between Eduardo and a group of mercenaries through the shopping center: the young girl has to testify in an important trial and wants to be passed over in silence. Eduardo and the team of security agents must protect this young girl and get rid of the attackers with the available means. A behind closed doors action film released in 2017 directed by Alain DesRochers.
sweet girl
sweet girl is a Netflix feature film directed by Brian Andrew Mendosa (participated in the 2018 film Braven). Released in 2021, this action film tells the story of a grieving family. Widowed by his wife’s death from cancer, Raymond Cooper (Jason Momoa) is a father who discovers his beloved hasn’t been treated over a money issue. He then vows to do whatever he can to punish those who ruined his life, either by denouncing them or by using far less legal means to quench his thirst for revenge. During his investigations he finds out that there is much more to it than a simple money affair and that those involved are also willing to do anything to prevent the affair from spreading. The latter are even ready to attack the girl to calm Raymond’s zeal, who does not hesitate to face all dangers so that the truth comes out.
sweet tooth
sweet tooth is a Netflix series adapted by DC Comics, launched in 2021. It tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world where a mysterious virus is decimating humanity at a very high speed. Alongside the decline of society, a new breed of humanoid hybrids is born: half-human, half-animal mutant beings who are very quickly rejected and hunted down. Gus (played by Christian Convery) is born into this world: half deer, half human. He lives peacefully with his father (played by Will Forte) far from the consequences of the collapse of society. However, after 10 years in exile, a series of events forces Gus to set off to explore the world. Then his paths cross with Tommy Jepperd (played by Nonso Anozie), a lone traveler. sweet tooth then tells their quest for the meaning of humanity through the eyes of the two adventurers. A dangerous quest that will leave the few remaining humans overarmed… and very hostile.
The Witcher
Based on the literary series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher is a fantasy medieval series. It tells the adventures of Geralt De Riv (played by Henry Cavill): he is a witcher, an individual whose job is to hunt very dangerous creatures. During his adventures he is involved in various intrigues, especially political ones: the kingdom of Nilfgaard invades the kingdom of Cintra. Geralt reluctantly finds himself at the center of very important events with the witch Yennefer De Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and the princess of Cintra Ciri (played by Freya Allan). A television adaptation that over the years has become a flagship series in the Netflix catalogue: a second season has since aired, while the third is expected this summer and the fourth is in the pipeline.
