Netflix and TikTok are ending their offerings in Russia. Around one million Russian users are said to be affected by the withdrawal of the streaming service. Netflix said it will not start new subscriptions in Russia. Existing subscriptions are to be canceled with the coming billing period.

Current Netflix productions in Russia were also put on hold. It was not communicated if and when the service could return. A spokesman for Netflix simply stated:

Given the local circumstances, we have decided to discontinue our service in Russia.
