News culture Netflix has no time to waste: This Korean series returns in 2024 with a new season a few months later
It’s no secret, but Netflix especially loves South Korean series (unless that’s the audience) and that’s why Sweet Home will be returning to our screens very soon.
You sang a first-person drama
Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, Sweet Home is a series whose first season was released on Netflix in 2020 : We follow the adventures of Cha Hyeon-soo, a young man who has been depressed and has suicidal tendencies since the death of his family. But when he moves into a new apartment and a new neighborhood, he is confronted with events that are, to say the least, disturbing: his neighbors turn into monsters. And not exactly the most charming.
Then the situation takes a terrible turn for the worse and the entire sector takes on the semblance of an apocalypse, with Cha becoming infected and given strange powers: Sweet Home moves between drama and pure horror and offers an intense and particularly bloody spectacle in which hemoglobin flows are legion. The tone is dark and the atmosphere gripping: in short, the first ten episodes were a success. Enough with that Netflix released a second season last December.
And the journey begins again
We have to assume that production already knew where to go since the news. is that a third season is already about to be released while the second was proposed three months ago: We even have a release window for this summer 2024. The entertainment giant is not idle, yes, even if we don’t have a trailer to touch yet: it won’t be long, however.
In addition, let’s take this opportunity to remember the next South Korean series that will appear on the platform: At first glance we have to mention the second season of Squid Game, which will be released in 2024, more precisely at the end of the year. A future hit that will break Netflix viewership records again?
To return to the terrible topic: Hellbound and The Creature of Kyŏngsŏng will also unveil their respective second seasons on Netflix in the coming months. The first plot takes place in a somewhat peculiar context in which humanity has found a way to anticipate the death of everyone, and in which the angels are responsible for sending those who use this ability to hell. The second tells the story of a group’s fight against a fearsome monster at the end of World War II.
But that’s not all, because as with there is also something new on the program Chicken Nugget, for example, the story of a woman who turns into a chicken nugget (yes). Suffice it to say there is at least something to be curious about…
