“If you love ninja turtlesyou’ll love Shredder’s Revenge,” Connor said in his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Revenge of the Shredder Review last year.
“With up to six player co-op, this game is the perfect game to play with some friends in the living room, plug in a couple of controllers, and have a blast.”
But what if you want all this crazy chaos on the go? What if you want to do some turtle-fueled crap on the road, while visiting your city’s sewer system, or at a pizzeria? Well, Netflix has some good news for you.
Netflix Games just launched its arcade retro game on the Play Store for Android and the App Store for iOS (the first time the game is available on those platforms). Similar to all other Netflix game releases, you need a Netflix subscription and account to play the game. Once you set up the service, there are no additional or hidden costs and you can enjoy the full Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Revenge of the Shredder experience.
Produced by the same studio that released the fantastic Scott Pilgrim Vs World: The Game a few years ago, the game further demonstrates how well Tribute Games understands the arcade retro genre and appeal. Even if you just fire up the game for a quick taste out of curiosity, it’s worth a shot – you’ve got very little to lose!
The download starts at 249MB and will take up about 1.5GB when fully installed on your device. The game can be played via a bluetooth controller (yes, your PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S controller will pair with your device for this) and has no FPS cap – so if you have a decent phone, You’ll be playing a perfect cromulent version of the game.
It’s a crime that no one plays Netflix’s game (well, almost no one – 1% of Netflix users do). Assuming that over 200 million people have access to, say, one of the best strategy games and don’t even know about it is ridiculous. You’d think Netflix would have some marketing behind this bonus feature available to everyone, but alas.
As such, TMNT has been added to the list, which also includes Poinpy, Krispee Street, and Knittens, as well as a host of Stranger Things games. Just open the app on your phone, tap the big “Game” button on the screen, and follow the instructions. Thank us later.
