Netflix is currently making headlines on a regular basis. The main focus is on the announcement by the streaming service that it wants to take stronger action against account sharing. What is meant by this is sharing access with several people who are not part of the household.
Just a week ago, Netflix published a series of FAQs explaining the sometimes drastic measures they are taking to persuade non-paying users to take out their own subscriptions. Shortly thereafter, the streaming service rowed back and removed the FAQs again – without giving any specific reasons.

Netflix announces drastic measures against account sharing
However, it can be assumed that the planned measures have only been lifted, not postponed. In the coming weeks, Netflix is likely to present new, revised plans against account sharing.
Is the great Netflix exodus beginning now?
The plans of the streaming platform are not well received by the users. That shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that many have so far benefited from Netflix’s lax policy on account sharing.
A full 62 percent of them even want to turn their backs on the streaming service completely if the planned measures are implemented. The was the result of a survey by the US market research company Jefferies with 380 participants.
Nevertheless, Jefferies analyst Andrew Uerkwitz assumes that the tougher approach should pay off for Netflix in the end. Because the streaming service has so far benefited little or not at all from a large proportion of the lost users. As a result of the survey, he raised his buy recommendation for Netflix shares from $400 to $425.
Netflix Gretchen question: How do you feel about the new subscription policy
How about you? Are you part of the 62 percent who will turn their backs on Netflix because of the new measures. Will you be forced to grit your teeth and shell out more for the streaming service in the future? Or have you previously paid the full price for a Netflix subscription and are therefore not directly affected by the changes?
How Netflix will develop after the introduction of the new measures remains to be seen. Either way, exciting times are ahead for the streaming market.
Will Netflix succeed with its stricter subscription policy and become an example for competitors like Disney Plus, Wow or Amazon Prime? Or will the streaming service fall flat on its face with its measures against account sharing and thus continue to lose its former supremacy?
