In “The Trust – A Game of Greed”, eleven people unknown to each other receive a quarter of a million dollars, which they can divide between themselves. They can either take their fair share or vote each other out so they can claim more for themselves.

What sets this reality format apart from the others is that the candidates don’t fight for victory for days or weeks. At “The Trust,” participants are offered the prize right from the start. What happens next and how they divide the money among themselves is the exciting part. In this social experiment, players are in control of their own fate.

Veteran journalist and former CNN correspondent Brooke Baldwin will serve as host for the first season of the competition. So far there is an 8-episode season on Netflix and a second season is not yet confirmed.

24. Squid Game – The Challenge (seit 2023)

In the surprise hit “Squid Game,” a South Korean Netflix series, we watched contestants compete in a deadly game show where they could win prize money of 45.6 billion won, which is equivalent to about 33 million dollars.

In “Squid Game: The Challenge”, which is apparently the biggest reality series of all time, 456 candidates compete, all of whom are fighting for a gigantic prize pot of 4.56 million dollars. In order to win the money, the candidates have to play games that are already known from the “Squid Game” series – but without fatal consequences.

Netflix has already confirmed a second season. An exact start date is not yet known, but we assume a start in autumn/winter 2024.
