Tetris Effect Connected will officially appear on PS4, Steam, Epic Games Store and Oculus Quest at the end of July 2021. This will be a free update for those who own the basic Tetris Effect.

This new version, which Xbox gamers have been enjoying for several months, gives access to new local and online multiplayer modes, which are featured below:

  • Connected : Form a team of three players to defeat bosses controlled by the AI (or by players during the Full Moon event, which lasts 24 hours every weekend). Connect your dice when you enter the game and smash lines to deal heavy damage.
  • Zone battle: A two-player competition with classic Tetris effect settings. The key to victory lies in your ability to properly use your ability to stop time. This mode is also a great way to test your skills against another player. Score Attack Another two-player competition with classic Tetris effect settings, but no line attacks are changed. Whoever has a better result than his opponent after both games wins. Think of this mode as a single player game with competitive Tetris.
  • Classic Score Attack: Another two-player competition with settings from old Tetris. This means you won’t have instant drops, the lines below are limited to a single tetrimino, and you cannot keep a tetrimino. The Tetrimino work a little differently as they automatically lock when you touch a surface, etc. This rigid version of Tetris is played in pro-player competitions such as the Classic Tetris World Championship.

We are all together in this life

Before deploying to everyone, a beta will allow anyone who wishes to subject to availability and by invitation on Steam and Oculus Questto try this marvel on your TV, as well as through the PlayStation VR or other compatible headset. This free trial runs from June 24th at 5:00 AM to July 6th at 7:59 AM.. Great novelty, Tetris Effect Connected will set up a cross-platform game for classified and friendly matches but with no progress to share. An option that can be turned off once you’re sectarian.

To mark the occasion, additional functions will be introduced:

Spectator mode

The game sessions are only available during friendly matches and offer space for four to six viewers (depending on the game mode) who can view and even use motifs in real time (using the right stick).

PAL speed (classic score attack, friendly game and local game mode only)

This option for Classic Score Attack mode reproduces aspects of the European version of the old 8-bit game. The characters move faster to the right and left, and the screen of death is reached at level 19 (as opposed to level 29 in the NTSC version), and other nostalgic details are included too!

Slow speed (Zone Battle, Friendship, and Local Game Modes only)

This aptly named option is played more slowly with an increased entry delay (the time between the moment one Tetrimino engages and the next one enters the matrix) and slightly slowed down Tetrimino movements. This presents a new challenge for the pros of Zone Battle mode who will have to employ a different strategy as they cannot rely on the speed of the falls.

Note that the beta experience and statistics will not carry over to the endgame.
