The role-playing game Neverwinter is now almost ten years old, but it still has a loyal community behind it – and they can now look forward to the 25th expansion called “Menzoberranzan”.
Gearbox Publishing and the developers at Cryptic Studios have announced the 25th expansion to Neverwinter called “Menzoberranzan” – and it’s not long in coming. From March 28th you should be able to get started on PC, PlayStation and Xbox alike.
The latest add-on to the free-to-play MMORPG marks the conclusion of a two-part storyline and campaign created in collaboration with best-selling authors RA Salvatore and Geno Salvatore. Part 1 is already available in the form of the expansion “Northdark Reaches”.
For the first time in the second part, you get the opportunity to explore the drow city of Menzoberranzan – and with it the legendary home of the cult character Drizzt Do’Urden. Inspired by Salvatore’s “Way of the Drow” book series, you will meet Drizzt as well as other popular D&D protagonists and experience the events between the last two books “Glacier’s Edge” and “Lolth’s Warrior” up close.

Following the events of the last add-on and reuniting with scout Braelin Janquay, Jarlaxle Baenre, leader of the mercenary force Bregan D’aerthe, has returned to Menzoberranzan. With civil war looming, rumors are spreading about a long-forgotten artifact that could turn the tide in Lolth’s favor. Should such power fall into the wrong hands, the Underdark would descend into chaos. To avert civil war, you must delve back into the depths alongside the ex-Drinns of blasphemy and save Menzoberranzan from doom.
As a result, the add-on brings a lot of new content with it, including the brand new adventure zone Menzoberranzan. There you will have to dodge patrols and assassins, accept new quests, meet old friends and face new enemies; Of course, the latter also have epic new rewards in store.
