God of War Ragnarok still offers an exclusive and beautiful preview in 4K. We see Kratos and Atreus explore one of the highly anticipated new realms in this episode.
God of War Ragnarok is (very) slowly but surely revealed. After the battle gameplay, our fellow Game Informers drop a little cookie: excerpts from Svartalfheim, the land of the dwarves.
God of War Ragnarok reveals the kingdom of Svartalfheim
Svartalfheim, the new kingdom of the dwarves, land of Brok and Sindri, is finally available to explore in God of War Ragnarok. It was one of the inaccessible places along with Vanaheim, Asgard and Jötunheim. James Riding, Lead Level Designer, discussed how the team rendered Svartalfheim “bigger than life”
We wanted to further develop the gameplay within the levels with more variety and verticality. In Svartalfheim itself there are many sights. There is so much content.
This size, verticality, and upstream content will make environmental puzzles more complex. In the video, Kratos uses his Leviathan Ax to freeze water or his Chaos Blades to unleash water to spin a wheel. All mechanics and the world of God of War Ragnarök reflect the game’s narrative.
According to the developers, even the ancient kingdoms will look new for players of the first part. If you missed it, don’t hesitate to check out the brilliant parody of the Rick & Morty title.
