Code Violet is not released for PC in order to not allow mods for the game.
There are many reasons for developing a game for only one platform. Sometimes there can be technical reasons or a studio may lack the staff or expertise to do justice to another. Avoiding Nude Mods is definitely new, but that's exactly why Teamkill Media is not releasing a PC version of the horror shooter with dinosaurs, Code Violet.
A question of art
In one Post on Xwhich also happens to be the studio's most successful social media post, Teamkill Media rejected questions about a PC version. The statement says:
For those asking us about a PC version of Code Violet, the reason we're not bringing it to PC is because we don't want anyone modding vulgar versions of the main character or other characters in the game.
We have great respect for our voice actors and our artistic vision for the game and story, and we reject any form of destruction of this vision through sexual mods.
Our art of making a joke and potentially damaging the reputation of our voice actors is not worth the extra money we can make from it.
There is rather little understanding in the comments under the post. However, it's not about the step of leaving out the PC as a platform, but about the justification.
X user KSquad writes: »I will not support a developer who blacklists an entire platform because of such a niche segment of the modding community.«
The comment from SuperArtFinish goes in the same direction: »How can a developer make a statement like this, indirectly calling players perverts and expecting the same players to buy the game on the console? Who is the actual target group?”
Hylian Hero questions the basic assumption of reputational damage: »When has a mod ever damaged someone's reputation or name? Well, thanks for letting us all know to avoid this game in advance.”

Code Violet: The new horror shooter follows the intellectual legacy of Dino Crisis
A complete picture of the two previous PC games cannot be drawn, but there is reliable data for Steam. The game debut Kings of Lorn was released in 2019 according to SteamDB a peak of eleven active players at the same time and has just 58 percent positive reviews.
The last game released Son and Bone (2024) hat According to SteamDB as many reviews as the player peak: four. How both games perform in the Epic Games Store is unknown.
So the PlayStation after all? With Quantum Error (2023), Teamkill Media has already published a Sony-exclusive game. Laut Metacrtic But it fell through with critics (average rating 40) and players (user score 3.8) alike.
Of course, that says nothing about the quality of Code Violet. The game is scheduled to be released in July 2025 and only for the PlayStation 5. It cannot be said whether the statement on X is a newfound philosophy or a PR stunt.
