The Borderlands movie returns and once again shows itself with an explosive and particularly funny excerpt. From here, things look very promising.
This is one of the big upcoming adaptations, the film Borderland marked the Summer Game Fest 2024 ceremony by its sheer absence. While we were waiting for an announcement for Borderlands 4 and maybe even a preview of the film during the conference, it was our colleagues at IGN who finally shared an exclusive excerpt from the feature film.
The Borderlands movie is back. Hit or failure?
A film that divides while its cast surprises. Kevin Hart as Roland, Kate Blanchett as Lilith or even Jamie Lee Curtis as Patricia Tannis, we weren’t really ready. Fortunately, we’re talking about a five-star cast made up of very talented actors and actresses. It remains to be seen what the film will be like, but the first glimpses have made our mouths water. Director Eli Roth, assisted by Craig Mazin, seems to have succeeded. After an explosive and devastating first trailer, the new excerpt, exclusive to IGN, reveals a fiery action sequence. Our heroes suddenly face hordes of enemies charging headlong towards them and must quickly flee. Not to mention Clap-Trap by Jack Black, who still stands out.
At the moment it looks a bit cheap visually, but the atmosphere seems to be there. It should be violent and action-packed, as it should be, but also, and we really hope so, full of humor. Black humor is the best, by the way. The Borderlands franchise is known for this: between the situations that are more WTF than the others, the poems by Scooter, the many Easter eggs and the gallery of colorful characters, there is a lot to do to have fun. We’ll see.
The Borderlands movie is expected to be released in our country on August 7, so come soon.
