Whatsapp got new privacy settings that give you more control over your status, your profile photo and the Last seen
– Give ad. With the update, you can control who sees these things by excluding certain people or contacts.
The feature was announced via the Whatsapp account on Twitter. The new options are available immediately if you have the latest Whatsapp version installed on your smartphone. We could already access the functions on our smartphones. You can see the whole tweet here:

Here’s how to find the options
To find the new options, tap the three dots at the top and click settings
Accountand then
privacy. In this menu you will find the new settings under the following items:
- Last online
- profile pic
- Info
- Status
For each of these points you can now determine who can see them or not. You always have the option to show them to everyone, to nobody, or only to your contacts. In a new menu item you can now also exclude contacts who are not allowed to see the data. It then looks like this:
More data protection for users
Meta, the company that owns Whatsapp, gives you more control over the data you store in Messenger. This way you can hide them from certain people who you don’t want to show, for example, your profile picture or who shouldn’t see when you were last online in the app.
