Google is bringing out a slew of new features for Android phones in December. Not only devices with the latest Android 12 are operated, but new functions are also planned for devices with Android 6 or higher. Features for more safety, coordination and fun are included.
A big innovation is the “Family Bell” feature – or family notification in German. This enables cross-device appointments and reminders to be set up using voice commands in the Google Assistant. The registered devices are then synchronized and receive appointment reminders or other notifications. Family Bell is available now.
A new function for more security will be introduced with auto-reset. In the future, app permissions for apps will be reset after a certain period of time without use. In this way, forgotten applications should no longer be able to use data volumes in the background or share device information in the future. This function will soon be available to all devices with Android 6 or higher.

If you are still missing one or the other individual image with the already confusing mass of emojis on Android devices, you can be happy. Google is currently testing the so-called “Emoji Kitchen” in the beta version of Gboard. This allows you to create and send a new, individual one from two standard emojis. This feature should become generally available in the next few weeks.
The revised widget system is one of the innovations of Android 12. Now Google is maintaining the portfolio and is releasing a Google Play Books widget, a YouTube Music widget and a Google Photos People & Pets widget. The latter lets you choose the faces of your loved ones and pets and create a selective change of images.
In line with this, Google is being expanded to include the Memories function for Google Photos, which will offer curated picture galleries for public holidays. The widgets and Google Photos Memories will be rolled out within the next few days and weeks.
