While we wait for a release date for this PlayStation 5 exclusive that has been in development for eight years, it is illustrated in a new gameplay video that is tantalizing.
Developed by Chinese studio UltiZeroGames, Lost Soul Aside is expected for PlayStation 5 and PC. Naturally, it took advantage of the ChinaJoy 2024 event in Shanghai to shine once again. And here’s another title from the Middle Kingdom to keep a close eye on.
PlayStation 5 exclusive Lost Soul Aside still shows its gameplay
On the occasion of ChinaJoy 2024, many upcoming Chinese games, especially on PlayStation 5, will take the opportunity to show themselves once again and even be approached via playable demos. We are thinking in particular of Phan tom Blade Zero, which should really appeal to those who liked FromSoftware’s Sekiro. The other notable title in this category is Lost Soul Aside, first announced in 2016. Sony then recognized its enormous potential and claimed console exclusivity two years later.
Lost Soul Aside presents on paper all the DNA of what PlayStation 5 players can expect from an exclusive game on the Japanese giant’s console. It is in fact an action RPG with strong references to legendary licenses such as Devil May Cry in the gameplay and Final Fantasy in the artistic direction. We were able to see it in action again in videos of the demo available at ChinaJoy 2024. The title from UltiZero Games is particularly edgy in its combat and grandiose in its settings.
Despite an extremely long development time, Lost Soul Aside still doesn’t have a set release date. However, this seems closer than ever. This promising title could therefore arrive on PC and PlayStation 5 (Pro?) later in the year or in 2025. Until then, you’ll have to put your lost soul aside and keep yourself occupied with other Chinese games like the highly anticipated Black Myth Wukong, scheduled for August 20 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
